About
Founded in 1878, the Corcoran College of Art and Design offers 4 years Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in the majors of fine art (drawing, painting, digital media, ceramics, printmaking and sculpture); photography; interior design and photojournalism. The college also offers Bachelor of Arts in contemporary art, museum culture, theory and studio practice as well as writing in the arts. The college was founded a few years after the Corcoran Gallery of Art, to which is it associated. The gallery houses 17,000 and is considered one of the best American collections of art in the world.

About
Established in 1789 Georgetown University educates nearly 16,000 students a year. In both visual and performing arts, Georgetown's focus is on development of the imagination through the liberal arts. Courses are offered in various types of art including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and digital art. Art history and museum studies are popular and students take advantage of the many prestigious museums in the area. Bachelor of Arts (BA) possible are: Art History, Fine Art, American Musical Culture, Theatre and Performance Studies. A Master of Arts (MA) is offered in Art and Museum Studies. Galleries on site at Georgetown campus include: Lucille M. and Richard F.X.
