Established in 1877 Jackson State University is situated on a 125-acre campus. The School of Fine and Performing Arts at Jackson State University, consists of a music and art faculty. The Department of Art at Jackson State University was the first art program to be accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) in Mississippi. The Department of Studio Art and Graphic Design offer BA and BFA degrees.

About
The Department of Art at Mississippi College offers a full program of studies leading to the Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Art. Students (BFA) can choose to major in Studio Arts, Graphic Design or Interior Design. Bachelor of Science students can major in Graphic Design, Interior Design or Art Education. Graduates can pursue 3 degrees: Master of Fine Arts degree (MFA), Master of Arts degree (MA) or the Master of Education Degree in Art (MEd).

Founded in 1884, the Mississippi University for Women was the first public college for women in the US. Men have been educated at the university for over 20 years. The US News & World Report has consistently ranked the university among the top Southern public master's universities. Programs in the Department of Art & Design are accredited through the National Association of Schools and Design (NASAD). Degrees are offered in various types of art including drawing, painting, weaving, printmaking, photography, jewellery art, design, illustration, graphic design, art history and art education.

About
University of Mississippi (also known as Ole Miss) opened its doors to students in 1848. The Department of Art at the University of Mississippi is a community of artists and art historians dedicated to creating students with a career as designers, researchers, educators and artists. Areas of study are: Art History, Ceramics, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Graphic Design and Photo/Imaging Arts. Undergraduate degrees on offer are: Art History (BA), Studio Art (BA, BFA). Graduate degree available, a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) with studies in Ceramics, Painting, Printmaking and Sculpture.
